On Monday, September 6

I leave for London.  So I'll be out of contact for about 24 hours (maybe).  I just want you all to be aware that if you email me with questions on Monday (which is a holiday so I'm guessing you won't), I'll be in the plane and won't answer.

But I'll be on the ground on Tuesday and back online so keep working on your assignments and let me know how I can help!

Due Dates

Are now posted on our class website.  You can find them in one of 3 places...

Under the syllabus which can be found by pressing the resource link on the left side of the main page, under Assignments (which is also under resources like the syllabus) and in the week that it will be due or sometimes the week before depending on the time you might need to do the assignment.  These will be highlighted in bright red text so you don' miss it.

If we need to change them for any reason later - well discuss it in class but for now they should be solid!

How to Embed Video

Sometimes you may want to embed a video, and sometimes you may want to link to it or share it in another way. Embedded videos can be played on any Web page or site that supports embedding content, it looks better than a link, it keeps your reader on "your page," and it's easy to do!

Here is how you would embed video into a blog post.

Step 1. Go to http://www.youtube.com
Step 2. Find the video you want to embed.
Step 3. Copy the Code in Embed (at bottom of video screen is a button that says embed)
Step 4. Go back to your blog post > click edit HTML > Paste the Embed Code Here

That's it. You're done!  Then just publish your post.
Enjoy my embedded video below.

I guess I forgot...

To tell you about tagging.

When you make your weekly blog posts another requirement is they need to have three tags.  Accroding to Wikipedia a tag is a non-hierarchical keyword or term assigned to a piece of information (such as an Internet bookmark, digital image, or computer file). This kind of metadata helps describe an item and allows it to be found again by browsing or searching. Tags are generally chosen informally and personally by the item's creator or by its viewer, depending on the system.

In order to tag your post use the box at the bottom of the composition box that says "Labels".  You can type in your tags and separate them by commas so that they will appear at the bottom of your post in list form.  See below for my tags on THIS post.

Remember tags should be relevant to the content.

Thanks for reminding me about this Shelby!
